As a summative assignment for our second unit "Buildings and materials", the children made 3D models of buildings using whatever material was easily available to them. These models were showcased to the entire school in the form of a gallery walk. Each child presented his/her own model (the materials used, method of preparation, amenities shown, etc.) to the visitors. They also received written feedback from the visitors. Grade 5 Gallery walk
One of the most appreciated events this year for us was the "Grade 5 Gallery walk".
CAS Visit
The year so far has been power packed for grade 5. There have been many a events to talk about. Over the rest of the vacation, I will try and cover up as many as possible. :)
One of them was the CAS visit to a government school near by. Here, the Indus children did some fun activities with the children of the public school. The Indus Grade 5's read stories to them, taught them parts of a circle with a hands on activity, did origami and also played games. Here are some pictures:

WELCOME!!!!
Dear parents, students, educators and friends,
I
welcome you all
to the
Grade 5 blog.
The famous American futurist, Alvin Toffler has said "The illiterate of the 21st century won't be those who can't read & write but those who can't learn, unlearn & relearn"
Thus, the onus of educators like ourselves is to imbibe in EACH child the aptitude to be ready for the exponentially changing world. And, it goes unsaid that the same can not be preached without practice!
So what is changing? Technology? May be.... Are we using it effectively? May be not..!!!
So, dear friends, I take immense pleasure in introducing the "Grade5 IISH" blog. I, as the classroom teacher, will not only be posting the daily happenings (in the form of text, pictures, videos, etc.) in the classroom, but also plenty of beneficial information for all of us, specially parents. One of the important topics will be the "PYP Exhibition"
Of course, I would love to hear from you all. So, please feel free to write your comments. And remember:
